I’m Tsavo Neal, BJJ brown belt and assistant instructor at InFighting Training Centres in Burnaby, BC. I’ve trained jiu-jitsu for 7 years, I’ve owned the Grappling SMARTY for ~4 of those years, and I’ve tested several grappling dummies.

Patrick Fulop (the inventor of the SMARTY) gave me this code to share with my readers.

If you want the short version: the code works, it saves you real money, and it applies to every product on the store. Keep reading for the details.

Is the TSAVO5 Grappling SMARTY Discount Code Still Active?

Yes.

I personally verify this code works at checkout on the 1st of every month and update the date at the top of this page.

If you ever try the code and it doesn’t apply for some reason, drop a comment at the bottom of this page and I’ll fix it ASAP.

How Much Does the Grappling SMARTY Discount Code Save You?

5% doesn’t sound like much until you’re looking at a $600 grappling dummy.

Here’s what TSAVO5 saves you on the most popular SMARTY products:

• SMARTY 2.0 Pre-filled ($597 USD): save about $30
• SMARTY XL Pre-filled: 5% off the biggest SMARTY they make
• SMARTY Kid Pre-filled: 5% off the most affordable SMARTY
• SMARTY 2.0 Unfilled: stacks with the hundreds you already save by filling it yourself
• SMARTY Harness: 5% off the hanging-mode add-on
• SMARTY Gi: 5% off the custom gi made for the dummy

The code works on every product on the site, plus accessories. No exclusions.

How to Apply the Grappling SMARTY Discount Code at Checkout

1. Head to grapplingsmarty.com and add your SMARTY to the cart
2. Click Checkout
3. On the checkout page, find the box labeled Discount Code
4. Enter TSAVO5 and click Apply

You’ll see the 5% discount reflected in your subtotal before you pay.

What Does the Grappling SMARTY Discount Code Work On?

Everything on the store. Including:

• All pre-filled SMARTYs (2.0, XL, Kid)
• All unfilled SMARTYs
• The SMARTY Harness
• The SMARTY Gi
• Every accessory on the site

It also stacks with Grappling SMARTY’s free international shipping on unfilled dummies. If you’re buying unfilled and shipping outside North America, the combined savings are significant.

Why I Have This Code (And Why That Matters)

Most of the sites ranking for “Grappling SMARTY discount code” have never touched a grappling dummy. They scrape codes from affiliate feeds, publish them with no context, and don’t verify whether they still work.

Here’s why this page is different:

• I’ve owned the SMARTY for ~4 years. I store mine on my balcony in Vancouver. It still looks brand new.
• I’ve publicly reviewed it in depth. Read my full Grappling SMARTY review — photos, use cases, every pro and con I’ve found.
• I’m an affiliate partner. Patrick gave me this code directly. When you use it, I earn a small commission — which lets me keep running BJJEquipment.com and reviewing BJJ gear without running ads or sponsored fluff.
• I’m a working BJJ instructor. I’m a brown belt training for 7+ years. I coach at InFighting Training Centre and I’ve logged 1,000+ classes on the mat. I know what gear actually helps your jiu-jitsu and what’s just hype.

If the code ever stops working, I’ll be the first to know and the first to fix it. That’s something a generic coupon aggregator can’t promise you.

Is the Grappling SMARTY Worth It, Even With 5% Off?

Short answer: yes — if you have mats at home and you’re serious about progressing.

The SMARTY isn’t for the once-a-month hobbyist. It’s for:

• Kinesthetic learners who need to feel moves to remember them
• White and blue belts memorizing a technique library
• Competitors who can’t always find a drilling partner
• Athletes recovering from injury who want to rebuild confidence in their body
• Instructors who teach virtually or want a demo tool

If that’s you, the SMARTY pays for itself in how much more you get out of every instructional you buy.

For the full breakdown — construction, the 3 sizes compared, FAQ, 101 techniques you can drill — see my full Grappling SMARTY review.

Other Ways to Save on a Grappling SMARTY

If $600 is still steep, a few options:

• Buy unfilled. You save a few hundred dollars if you’re willing to cut up old clothes and stuff it yourself. Unfilled SMARTY 2.0 here.
• Free international shipping is included on unfilled dummies.
• SMARTY Kid is the cheapest entry point — and great for small adults, not just kids.
• Stack TSAVO5 on top of any of the above.
